Varsity “Souvenirs”
We’re pleased to share a body of work Sunroom made for Varsity’s 2023 singles project Souvenirs.
Souvenirs is a collection of songs written and released monthly from January-December of 2023. Writing, recording, and releasing one song a month was a challenge that would test Varsity’s songwriting, recording, producing and time management skills. In an era when touring either wasn’t safe or feasible, the project kept Varsity creating and exploring. Sonically these songs reach farther into different genres than any previous record. Souvenirs will take you to a desolate beach, a cabin in the woods, the memory of youth, the dance floor, a cowboy bar, inside an ephemeral dream, and back to where it all began in the bitter blackness of winter.
Each cover artwork and companion animation was designed and risograph printed in-house. We also have two versions of a limited edition shirt design, and a release show riso poster which can be ordered by clicking the images below. :)
