Our dear friend Wyatt Grant has a gallery show at RFI Gallery in Hamburg, Germany called “Yesterday’s Blues” opening on September 10. In conjunction with this show opening and in collaboration with Wyatt, we’ve produced a limited run of 40 of his original works risograph printed and compiled in a handbound book. Pre-order your copy here.

For me, the book contains, more or less, the “liner notes” of the show. The images were selected from drawing sessions, sketchbooks, odds and ends from the studio, etc. to gain some continuity, but also to deepen the story. I’ve always been a big fan of “b sides” and outtakes in music, and these drawings are quite literally that (alongside some photos of sculptures and other fun things).

“Yesterday’s Blues” as a concept felt like it was both cataloging and expanding upon a really reflective period in my practice. Drawing without a goal in mind is critical to my process, and I hope this book reveals some interesting underpinnings and expands upon the show in a unique way.
