Sunroom Book 002: Detective Detective by David McCoubrey

We’re immensely proud to release the novel Detective Detective by our brilliant friend and humorist David McCoubrey. Each paperback is hand-bound and a part of a limited edition of thirty copies.

The endearingly self-aware narrator, also named Dave, finds himself (or wills himself?) into an impossible situation of helping a friend who’s in deep trouble with the Philadelphia drug-peddling criminal underworld. The narrative twists – and even turns – in ways that had me frantically turning pages, hoping to find some answers that could only be provided by the book’s end. That’s not to say that the ride was anything but a treat – I found myself completely invested in the characters, laughing out loud at the follies of the drugged-out thugs and concerned for the safety of our ragtag group of good guys. All in all, it was a thoroughly entertaining, reality-blended meta world created by a person who’s truly found the proper medium for his voice.
